"Do I have your coordinates?"
04/06/2003 Entry

Thanks to a little perl script written by a friend of mine, I have decided to migrate all contact information of friends and colleagues to a UNIX-based system. This way I can easily find the necessary info from where ever without having to have the right software (except something with which I can telnet) or be on a particular machine (except that it needs to be networked). So if you think you're someone whose coordinates I should have, that is, you're a friend of mine or a colleague or someone who regularly reads this blog, please send me your coordinates in the following format:

Firstname Lastname
 o #
 h #
 c #
 username@address
 http://webaddress
whatever other info is helpful for contacting you

There is a space of indentation on every line except the first one which is important.

Please list the phone numbers in order of importance, that is, where I'm most likely to reach you and/or where you'd prefer I first tried. (That only goes for the phone numbers, the email address you should put after the phone numbers.)
o stands for office/work
h stands for home
c stands for cell/mobile

Be sure not to post this on here as that would make it public (unless you want that). Just send me an email - eszter~at~princeton~dot~edu - with the info in the above format. Thanks!

Blogs I Visit

The small print

A few words on what I will and will not post on this blog (taken from my E-LIST entry of January 2, 2002). I have nothing against posting commercial sites as long as they come highly recommended. In fact, I'm quite interested in improving informed consumer choice so I'm very curious to hear about good experiences with online retailers. What I will refrain from posting are sites that require plug-ins or programs that are painful to deal with. Example: I will not post anything that only works with RealOne/RealPlayer as that program is intrusive and annoying beyond belief and I am not willing to reinstall it on my machine (it was hard enough to get rid of it completely in the first place) nor do I want to encourage others to have it. If your site has audio content, please make it available in multiple formats or choose one that can be run on multiple players (e.g. .avi).
