"New blogs added"
08/04/2003 Entry

I have added two blogs to my blogroll.. and am starting to wonder whether I should start to break up my blog links according to some type of classification to make it more user-friendly - not for you, dear reader, but for myself.

Blog.org (great URL!) is by David Brake whose interests seem to overlap with mine considerably. The description of his blog is as follows: "Internet and public policy, broadband, virtual community and more from the UK-based consultant and journalist".

Foodgoat covers topics related to... food! You can pick up all sorts of tips on dealing with food, new foods, recipes, it's a fun and useful site. They even have a featured chicken paprikash recipe. I must say though, on that front, I recommend sticking to Eszter.com's Recipes page as I don't think any recipe can beat my Mom's chicken paprikash with dumplings. I even throw in a recipe for a cucumber salad, which is a must with that dish.

I'm going to have to update my self-description as my primary goal in the next three years is going to be getting a PhD at the LSE studying Internet usage. I'll still be doing that journalism and consulting to keep body and soul together though.

I lucked out in registering that URL - nobody has offered me $$$ big or small for it yet though.

Blogs I Visit

The small print

A few words on what I will and will not post on this blog (taken from my E-LIST entry of January 2, 2002). I have nothing against posting commercial sites as long as they come highly recommended. In fact, I'm quite interested in improving informed consumer choice so I'm very curious to hear about good experiences with online retailers. What I will refrain from posting are sites that require plug-ins or programs that are painful to deal with. Example: I will not post anything that only works with RealOne/RealPlayer as that program is intrusive and annoying beyond belief and I am not willing to reinstall it on my machine (it was hard enough to get rid of it completely in the first place) nor do I want to encourage others to have it. If your site has audio content, please make it available in multiple formats or choose one that can be run on multiple players (e.g. .avi).
