This year's guest singers will delight us with carols from Greece and Georgia (sung by Princeton Gaumarjos!) -- a nice way to relax after classes. Don't miss it: the singers will give their best to put a smile on your face!
Spread the news to your friends and bring them to the concert to sing along!
* Location: Vivian Cafe in Frist Campus Center

This is a project initiated by Princeton students and open to any other enthusiasts committed to social justice, sustainable development and a clean environment. The plan is to have a small and cohesive group (~10 persons of college age) work on a focused, 10-day volunteering project to improve the life of the inhabitants of Rosia Montana, Romania, by promoting cultural tourism and helping the locals market their traditions, as an alternative to the irresponsible strip-mining project initiated by a large Canadian company - with potential disastrous consequences for the region.
As this is a burgeoning, independent initiative, we expect all participants to cover their own travel & living expenses (total estimated costs: $1000-1200 round trip air-fare from U.S. + max $300 travel & living costs for 10 days in Romania). We do expect to collaborate closely with several local NGOs.
Volunteer work might include but is not limited to putting back in shape the local mining museum, convince regional tourism agents to invest in the area, encourage people to open bed & breakfasts, provide crash-courses in languages targeted at welcoming foreign tourists, make a movie clip to advertise the various opportunities for development. At the same time, students will be introduced to the various local traditions and the peasants' way of living and may choose to help their hosts on certain farming duties.
Attend the information session about the trip, to be held on Thursday 05/22 @ 7 pm in Rocky/Mathey Theater!
Here you can find some preliminary information; more links to be added soon. If you feel motivated & ready to help, we'd be happy to welcome you on our team!
